About us
Our aims, expertise and areas of work
UK manufacturing is undergoing rapid change. In particular, the pace of energy transition requires experts with knowledge of advanced manufacturing and engineering design to support regeneration of the sector. Leveraging our existing expertise in autonomous systems, robotics, battery technologies and materials The Hub will:
- become a leader in advanced manufacturing and digitally-enabled design, utilising our extensive facilities
- embed design teaching across all our education programmes, preparing students to thrive as professional engineers
- bring together University staff from across disciplines to strengthen and diversify our impact
- collaborate with industry to develop cutting-edge solutions to manufacturing challenges
