We offer a fee waiver to support the UK re-joining Horizon Europe, the EU’s key funding programme for PhD research and innovation. Our fees waiver funds the difference between UK and international tuition fees for 3.5 years.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this fees waiver you must have:
- accepted a PhD offer and start your studies
- be a resident of one of the following countries:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden, Albania, Armenia, Bosnia, Faroe Islands, Georgia, Iceland, Israel, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia, New Zealand, Norway, Serbia, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom.
How to apply
You do not need to make a separate application. If you meet the eligibility criteria we will apply the fee waiver automatically.
The first steps to apply for a PhD are find a potential PhD supervisor, view current PhD projects or create your own PhD proposal.
You can use this funding with other schemes including:
- funding under the UKRI 30% rule
- EU Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions MSCA doctoral networks
- industry or government funding
- self-funding
