One Guildhall Square (1GS)
We have a floor of dedicated doctoral school spaces within the contemporary 1GS building. 1GS is located opposite the Sir James Matthew Building.

Mayflower Gym
Mayflower gym has a range of gym and fitness equipment and classes in the fitness studio. It is open to all those with a University gym membership.

The Artisan Cafe
Located in the Sir James Matthews Building, serving premium coffee and a menu of hot and cold food. The cafe is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 7pm.

Mayflower gym
Located a five minute walk away from the other buildings in the City Centre Campus. There is a range of cardio and resistance equipment, and classes in the fitness studio during the week.

Mayflower hall
A 5-minute walk from Guildhall Square where the SJM and other City Centre Campus buildings are. The Mayflower Gym is located at the base of the building.

Archers Road
Around a 10 to 15 minute walk from our City Centre Campus, and very close to Southampton Common and the student area, Bedford Place. Archers Road halls offer en-suite accommodation with a friendly community feel.

Orion Point
Our private halls partner Orion Point offers prime city centre en-suite accommodation, a short walk across East Park to the City Centre Campus, and central restaurants and bars.
How to get to City Centre Campus
Campus location
City Centre Campus is located in and around Guildhall Square, Above Bar, Southampton.

Public transport
Unilink bus routes depart regularly from the centre of Southampton. They travel to many locations across the city including halls of residence, other University campus locations, train stations, and the airport.

- Southampton Central Station is 0.4 miles away. It is a 5 minute bus ride or an 11 minute walk.
- Southampton Airport is 5 miles away. It's a 25 minute train ride or a 40 minute bus ride.
Parking
There is no University owned parking on our City Centre Campus, though there are council and privately managed car parks close by. You can find information on the city centre car parks on the Council website.
If you hold a blue badge there are three disabled bays on Commercial Road, at the northwest corner of the Sir James Matthews Building. Other spaces will be available at other city council locations if needed.
If you ride a motorbike or use car club, there are bays on Commercial Road.
Please note University parking permits will not be valid in these bays/car parks and the T&Cs, pricing and availability of these bays/car parks are not managed or controlled by the University.
