Engineering Global Talent Scholarship

Scholarships of £3,000 are available to students in their first year of study on an undergraduate or postgraduate taught programme within the School of Engineering. 

There are 20 scholarships available. The £3,000 off tuition fees is for the first year of study only.

Eligibility

You are eligible if you:

  • apply for a University of Southampton course before you apply for the scholarship
  • receive a course offer before the closing date
  • will pay the Overseas fee

Check if you will pay the Overseas fee.

You must not be in receipt of any external scholarship, more than or equal to your tuition fees.

Deadline to apply

We cannot accept late applications. If your application is successful, you will receive confirmation in an email with an attached letter.    

The scholarship is open for applicants from October 2024 until 5pm (UK time) on 28 April 2025.  

We will contact you with the outcome of your application by the end of May 2025.   

How we award scholarships

This is a competitive process and not all applications will be successful.    

There are 3 stages to the shortlisting process. 

  1. We check that you meet the eligibility criteria.
  2. We score your academic record and qualifications as stated on your UCAS or PGT application form.
  3. The panel will decide who gets the scholarships.  The panel will consider your supporting statement, alongside your academic achievements to date.
  4. We may also shortlist applicants from Least Developed Countries, Low Income or Lower Middle-Income countries. 
     

The decision of the scholarship panel is final. We do not offer feedback on our process.

How to apply

Apply to study an undergraduate or postgraduate taught programme in our School of Engineering.

Complete the scholarship expression of interest form. You will need to provide a 500-word personal statement explaining why you should receive this scholarship.
