About the course
To join this 2 day course you must hold the RYA Level 2 National Powerboat certificate. You must also have a basic understanding of sailing and windsurfing.
Our instructors will introduce you to a wide range of topics and skills, including:
- boat preparation
- boat handling
- dinghy, windsurfer, kayak and canoe rescue
- towing
- end-of-day procedures
- safety and suitability of craft
- local factors and communication
- rescuing other water users
After completing this course, you’ll be able to provide safety or support cover to a range of craft and water users, particularly sailors or windsurfers.
Safety Boat courses are run on a maximum ratio of 1 instructor to 6 students.
