Membership for alumni

To qualify for discounted alumni membership, you must first apply for an alumni campus card. To apply, please email campuscard@soton.ac.uk with the following information:
•    Full name
•    Student ID (if known)
•    Date of Birth
•    UK home address that the card can be posted to
•    Clear passport-style photo
•    Whether you would prefer for your card to be posted or if you would like to collect it from Building 37, Highfield Campus.
•    Your reason for applying

Please allow up to three weeks to receive your card if you have requested it to be posted. Alternatively, the Office of Development & Alumni Relations will contact you when you card is ready for collection

Once you have received your alumni campus card, speak to a staff member at one of our facilities to find the best option for you.

Alumni Monthly Plus

Pay a £32.99 monthly payment and a £20 joining fee or a one off payment of £329 for full access to all our facilities, including:

swimming pool (temporarily closed from 1st June 2025 for up to 8 weeks)
TechnoGym fitness suite with over 200 fitness stations
virtual fitness classes through the global fitness company Les Mills
in-person fitness classes
premium fitness classes - 60 minute Yoga and Pilates
climbing and bouldering wall
Atrium cafe discounts
8 day advance booking
recreational sport booking - including badminton, basketball, volleyball and squash
access to Mayflower and Glen Eyre gyms
access to Southampton Active Nation facilities - The Quays, Bitterne Leisure Centre, Chamberlayne Leisure Centre and the Outdoor Athletics Track - paused from 2 April 2025
Sports pass

The one off annual payment of £329 gives you 12 months membership for the price of 10 and includes 12 guest passes for your friends and family.

Alumni Personal Training Membership

Personal training membership costs £125 a month and a £20 joining fee.

This gives you the same benefits as standard monthly membership and entitles you to weekly 1-hour sessions with a personal trainer.

Ask about personal training membership at the Jubilee Sports and Recreation Centre reception.

There is limited availability for this membership and it is not available online.

Alumni pay as you go

You can use many of our sports facilities without a membership.

Pay £8.99 for each gym, swim, virtual and standard fitness class (pool temporarily closed from 1st June 2025 for up to 8 weeks) .

Pay £9.99 for recreational sport, climbing and premium classes.

Alumni Sports Pass

A one off payment of £45 for the 2024-25 academic year.

A Sports Pass is ideal if you want to train and play matches with a university club, either competitively or as a hobby.

The Sports Pass gives you access to Athletic Union training sessions and competitive matches as well as intramural matches for fun.

You must be affiliated to a specific sports club before you buy a Sports Pass at the Jubilee Sport and Recreation Centre Reception.

Alumni Activity Pass

A one off payment of £79.99 gives you 10 all access sessions for the price of 8.

Passes expire 3 months after purchase.

Alumni Mayflower Gym Membership

You can join the Mayflower gym for £18.99 monthly and a £20 joining fee.

Ask about this membership at the Jubilee Sport and Recreation Centre or Mayflower Gym reception. This membership is not available online.
