  • ESRC CPC - Connecting Generations: I am also Co-Director of the ESRC CPC-Connecting Generations research programme. The research will investigate areas such as changing intergenerational relationships; intergenerational flows of support in later life; and work-life balance, employment and caring responsibilities in mid-life. The Centre for Research on Ageing is an international and multi-disciplinary research centre examining key issues in ageing and the lifecourse, informing policy and debate at the national and local level.

Applied Economics

The Applied Economics group produces innovative research that furthers and deepens our understanding of economic behaviour and global economic challenges, that informs and influences economic policy.

Demographic and Migration Modelling

The Demographic and Migration Modelling research group develop innovative methods for estimating and forecasting demographic change.

Family and Social Demography

Our department is recognised for its use of quantitative and qualitative methods to study social processes and family change.

Methodological Innovation: Survey Methods and Official Statistics

Experts in the design and use of surveys, with particular relationships with official statistics, the use of administrative data sources, longitudinal surveys and modelling with survey data.
