• Public Engagement Masterclass 4: Evaluation

  This session focused on frameworks and approaches in evaluating public engagement. We explored methods, ethics and toolkits.

• Public Engagement Masterclass 3: Planning, Delivery and Funding

  This session took a closer look at how to plan, deliver and secure funding for public engagement activity. It focused on a Theory of Change approach and introduced the wider environment of public engagement funding as well as key considerations.

• Public Engagement Masterclass 2: Communication, Collaboration and Power

  In this session, we offered support on building to identify possible partners or public groups to work with. We also helped to develop understanding of the principles of co-production and partnership working and touched on research storytelling.

• Public Engagement Masterclass 1: Introducing Public Engagement

  The first of our Public Engagement Masterclass series covered the fundamentals of public engagement and its importance in the Higher Education Sector. We introduced a simple logic model for project planning and the key considerations for planning and delivering a project. We also introduced the digital tools we will use for the rest of the course.

• Community Building Networking Events

  In November and December, we went on tour to promote our funding scheme. We hosted community networking events in Cardiff, Glasgow, Belfast and online.
  
  These events included activities for potential academic and non-academic collaborators. We welcomed academics, music organisations, charities and/or freelancers with an interest in applying for our spoke project funding.
  
  The events were led by Erin Johnson-Williams, Lisa Tregale, and Ben Oliver.

• Webinar: Funding Call, AHRC Hub for Public Engagement with Music Research

  This live webinar focused on the work, and funding available, from the new AHRC Hub for Public Engagement with Music Research. The Hub will fund and support four projects aimed at social change by connecting researchers with non-academic music organisations.

• Launch: AHRC Hub for Public Engagement with Music Research

  Our launch event featured short presentations by University leaders and the project team. These gave an overview of the Hub and its focus on co-created public engagement research on music and social justice.
