Public Engagement Masterclasses
Part of our remit as the AHRC Hub for Public Engagement with Music Research is to provide public engagement with research training for academics, students, musicians, educators and colleagues working in music organisations.
At the end of 2024, we hosted a series of half-day online masterclasses led by colleagues from the University of Southampton Public Engagement with Research Unit (PERu). These introduced topics including project planning, effective communication strategies, logistics, ethics and evaluation.
If you missed the series, videos are linked below or you can catch up on our YouTube playlist.

Community Building Networking EventsIn November and December, we went on tour to promote our funding scheme. We hosted community networking events in Cardiff, Glasgow, Belfast and online.
These events included activities for potential academic and non-academic collaborators. We welcomed academics, music organisations, charities and/or freelancers with an interest in applying for our spoke project funding.
The events were led by Erin Johnson-Williams, Lisa Tregale, and Ben Oliver.
