Our solutions

See how cGMI will drive zero-carbon shipping through innovation and collaboration in the maritime industry.

cGMI will pioneer the UK’s journey to zero-carbon maritime leadership. As the first facility to test and refine green maritime technologies, we aim to reshape international trade.

Our work will ensure the UK remains a global point for maritime innovation, investment, and skills development.

Providing high-level testing and simulation facilities

The UK is funding research on hydrogen, electrification, and batteries for greener maritime practices. However, there aren’t many facilities that can test new maritime systems with the latest technologies in real ocean conditions.

Our advanced facilities will test and validate new zero-carbon and sustainable technologies, both in the loop and in real-world maritime conditions.

We’ll also address systems integration challenges by bringing together technology and supply chains to de-risk and understand future solutions.

Working closely with regulators and safety bodies, we’ll ensure innovations meet safety and operational standards.

Enabling inward investment into the UK

We’ll stimulate economic growth through low-risk testing environments and establishing standards and understanding.

By focusing on sustainable energy and advanced maritime systems, we’ll attract international investment and secure the UK's economic future in the sector.

Creating skills training for the UK’s future

From apprenticeships to PhD programs, we’ll train the next generation of maritime professionals.

Our comprehensive skills program will prepare the UK’s workforce to lead in the global maritime industry. We'll focus on the skills necessary for a sustainable, net-zero future.

Working with SMEs to support innovation

Our goal is to support SMEs, the foundation of the UK maritime industry, through expertise, finance, and regulatory guidance. We’ll also offer on-site co-location for small businesses.

By supporting these enterprises, we’ll ensure they will contribute to and benefit from the UK’s maritime innovation and success.

Establishing international links through collaboration

We'll establish the UK as the centre of the net-zero maritime revolution by collaborating with industries and businesses worldwide.

We’ll align our innovations with international goals, ensuring global competitiveness and leadership.
