Dr Daniel Zabek is currently a Lecturer in the field of materials and the recipient of a Royal Academy of Engineering Research Fellowship (2019-2024). As a material scientist, he is interested in functional and smart materials and fluids, which includes:
- Ferromagnetic and ferroelectric phenomena in solids and liquids;
- Thermal-, piezoelectric-, pyroelectric- and dielectric properties of polymers, ceramics and composites;
- Two-phase energy systems (solid-liquid-vapour); and
- Waste heat recovery and energy harvesting.
