I studied Eastern European and Jewish history at University College London and the University of Belgrade. I am currently finishing a book manuscript on Jewish internationalism in the context of post-Ottoman state-building in the Balkans in the nineteenth century. My second book project is a biography of the French Jewish lawyer, politician, and internationalist Adolphe Crémieux.
I received my PhD from University College London and held fellowships from the Arts and Humanities Research Council, the Posen Foundation, the German Historical Institute in Paris, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the Central European University in Budapest, and Dartmouth College. In 2021-22, I was a guest professor at the Center for Jewish Studies at the University of Graz and in 2022-23, I was a fellow at the Herbert D. Katz Center for Advanced Judaic Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. I worked at the Leibniz Institute of European History (IEG) in Mainz, Germany, before joining the University of Southampton.
