Investigating barriers to ESOL for refugee learners living in Suffolk.
Amna Smith is studying a PhD in Modern Languages at the University of Southampton. Her project title is 'Investigating barriers to ESOL for refugee learners living in Suffolk'. Amna's research interests include ESOL policy, barriers to accessing ESOL provision, ELT, ESOL curriculum, assessments and language testing. She has presented at several conferences including, EALTA 2022, NATECLA 2022, LTF 2023, and The Migration Conference 2024, and was an invited speaker for SIAH in October 2023. Amna has been teaching for over ten years.
