Biography
Lucy has a clinical background, having worked as a psychiatric nurse and therapist in NHS substance misuse and eating disorders services, and more recently in private practice as a BACP accredited Counsellor and Accepance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) therapist, supervisor and trainer.
Lucy completed a PhD in 2019 in Health Sciences at the University of Southampton. Her thesis focused on the experiences of patients using an alcohol specialist nurse service in a general hospital and related outcomes. Since her PhD Lucy has worked as a post doctorate researcher on several addictions related projects related to treatment interventions.
Lucy's current role combines pastoral support for medical students with research into the mental health and wellbeing of university students.
