Andrew splits his time between research management, and research delivery.
He spends most of his week working for the National Institure for Health Research - providing clinical and scientfic expertise to the Health Technology. Assessment (HTA), Efficacy and Mechanism Evaluation (EME), Public Health Research (PHR), and Health Services and Delivery Research (HD&DR) progammes.
He is also associate director at the Southampton Clinical Trials Unit, responsible for development and delivery of "non-cancer" clinical trials.
He has previously been the Director of the Southampton Health Technology Assessments Centre, and was vice-chair of NICE's Interventional Procedures Advisory Committee until 2021.

Current research
Andrew's current research portfolio consists mainly of pragmatic studies across a range of disease areas; including the fastest ever recrtuiting NIHR funded trial. Most of these studies are funded through NIHR.
He is also involved in a number of methdology projects.
