Project overview
Wessex REACH, an NIHR funded geographical incubator created to facilitate the development of the future generation of health and care-related researchers across a range of disciplines and specialties in the Wessex region.
A survey of Higher Education Institutions/training providers was conducted to understand the scope of available support and Early career researcher group discussions were conducted to understand the barriers and/or facilitators to accessing support and identifying gaps.
The identified gaps are being addressed through on-going development of an accessible single hub of resources – the Wessex REACH website https://www.wessexreach.org.uk/; informal mentoring scheme; publication of quarterly newsletters; research focused lunch events; building emerging and strengthening established links with stakeholders such as ARC Wessex, PPM, CRN, CTU, HEI, NHS Trusts and Local Councils for wider dissemination of resources, and sharing best practice.
