Project overview
Regarding the increasingly unbalanced population structure, this project
studies polices on postponing retirement age and on stimulating fertility rate.
While postponing retirement age can to some extent relieve the current pension
funds shortage, we also concern about its impact on labor market structure and
fertility rate: whether the late retirement of senior high skilled workers crowds
out job opportunities of young high skilled workers; and whether late retirement
reduces the demand of old-age support from children and therefore reduces
fertility rate.
