Critical Infrastructures and Image Politics

Critical Infrastructure and Image Politics (CIIP) is a research group dedicated to investigating the politics of contemporary digital and visual cultures at the intersection of media art and critical theory.

Critical Infrastructures and Image Politics (CIIP) combines practice-based artistic research and media theoretical scholarship, to engage critically with the politics and representation of contemporary technologies. We focus on feminist, decolonial and activist-led approaches, to repair algorithmic technocultural biases.

CIIP is led by co-directors Dr Alexandra Anikina, Dr Stephen Cornford, Dr Kwame Phillips, and Dr Megen de Bruin-Molé and is based in the Department of Art and Media Technology at Winchester School of Art.
