Alice Janssens is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Fashion Marketing and Management at the University of Southampton. She is completing her PhD in the business history of fashion at Erasmus University Rotterdam, The Netherlands which focuses on the Internationalisation of the German Fashion Industry during the 20th century.
Her research critically examines the production, dissemination, consumption, and geographies of fashion from both historical and contemporary perspectives. Beside her academic work she has worked in exhibition development within the cultural heritage and contemporary art fields and consulted on brand strategy, heritage communication, funding acquisition and archive development for fashion and creative businesses in the UK and Europe.
