Keqin’s proposed PhD research will center on the use of games in museums, which will include a clear definition of “museum game”, field research on the current use of games for teaching and learning in museums in the UK, interviews with museum educators and museum game design teams, and a collaboration with a museum on the design and practice of one specific museum game.
Before joining the University of Southampton as a PHD student, Keqin studied MA Education at University College London, his master’s study focused on the educational activities in natural history museums and students’ internal motivation. Keqin has also completed internships at two of Shanghai’s renowned science museums, where he assisted in the development of various museum education programs for students.
