Dr Alexandra Reynolds

In her current role as Senior Teaching Fellow Alex will be focused on training academic staff and postgraduate researchers in areas related to Knowledge Exchange and Enterprise. In previous roles, Alex has lectured at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in subject areas related to museum studies, art history and cultural theory, as well as in digital humanities around collaborative cultural knowledge production.

Alex joined the University in 2022. Before joining the university Alex worked for over ten years on a range of National Lottery Heritage Fund, Arts Council England and Arts and Humanities Research Council funded partnership projects between universities and cultural organisations both as an academic researcher and as a curator and public engagement officer.

Alex holds a BA in the History of Art, Design and Architecture from Leeds University, a Pg Dip in Curating and MA in Cultural Studies from Goldsmiths College and an AHRC funded PhD in Digital Humanities from Kingston University. Alex’s PhD and subsequent theoretical and practice-based work as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Research Fellow at Solent University was focused on collaborative digital cultural knowledge production, exploring equitable, commons-based methods of co-creation.

An Associate Fellow of the HEA, Alex has experience working as an Associate Lecturer at BA and MA level at Kingston University, Solent University and the University of Winchester, and as an Academic Development Tutor across all levels from Foundation to PhD at the Arts University Bournemouth (AUB).
