Biography
Frederick Ewbank is an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow and Neurosurgery Registrar based at University Hospital Southampton. Mr Ewbank graduated in Medicine from the University of Southampton in 2019. During his undergraduate studies, Mr Ewbank completed an intercalated masters (MMedSci) investigating the effects of age on the biomechanical properties of cerebral arteries. Subsequently, as part of the Academic Foundation Programme at University Hospital Southampton, Mr Ewbank led studies investigating the association between subarachnoid haemorrhage and risk factors, such as aspirin, blood pressure and cholesterol, in cohorts, including the UK Biobank and Framningham Heart Study. Mr Ewbank's current research interests focus on the management of patients with unruptured intracranial aneurysms. Mr Ewbank is part of the Risk of Aneurysm Rupture Study and is investigating how aneurysm morphology and haemodynamics can influence risk of rupture.
