About
Dr. Fernández Castro is a Lecturer in Physical Oceanography at Ocean and Earth Science, National Oceanography Centre Southampton at the University of Southampton.
He does interdisciplinary oceanographic research, connecting small-scale physical processes with ocean circulation, biogeochemical cycles and plankton dynamics. In my current project, I investigate how ventilation processes in the mixed layers of the Southern Ocean modulate the uptake of atmospheric CO2 in this climatically important region.
