Mabel is a Postgraduate Researcher based in the Politics and International Relations department and Southampton Law School.
Mabel’s research interest concerns how social and political phenomena impacts human rights. Her PhD is ESCR funded through the SCDTP and is an interdisciplinary study at the intersection of International Relations and Law. Her thesis focuses on how the rise of radical right populism is shaping and shaping international migration norms concerning refugees and asylum seekers. The thesis is a comparative study looking at the normative impact on refugee and asylum-seeking policy in the UK and US over the past 20 years.
Mabel is the current Managing Editor of Global Constitutionalism which is an interdisciplinary journal publishing research which refers to and advances global constitutionalism from a broad range of disciplines including International Law, Political Science, International Relations, Comparative Politics, Political Theory, and so on.
