About
Dr George Devitt is a Research Fellow within Biological Sciences and Chemistry at the University of Southampton. His work is focused on the development and application of spectroscopy techniques for neurodegenerative disease research and diagnosis. His group are also interested in protein aggregation in diseases that cause dementia, particularly tauopathies. The overarching aim of this work is to better characterise the process of protein aggregation, to use these protein aggregates as 'signatures' for diagnosis, and to develop better, protein-specific therapeutic interventions for neurodegenerative diseases.
