Will is a Postgraduate Researcher based in the School of Mathematics at the University of Southampton.
Will’s research focuses on the modelling of perovskite solar cells, employing both numerical and asymptotic methods to solve drift-diffusion models to aid future design optimisation.
Will’s current research focuses on extending the analysis of the drift-diffusion model of perovskite solar cells in order to better understand the phenomena known as inverted hysteresis and provide a framework to use it as a diagnostic tool for real world devices. His work also involves extension of the drift-diffusion model and the development of the open-source PSC simulation tool IonMonger.
Will is involved in teaching and demonstrating for undergraduate modules, often involving workshops teaching Python.
Will has studied at the University of Southampton since 2016, was awarded first class honours in MMath Mathematical Physics with a focus on general relativity and astrophysics in July 2020. He entered the PhD Mathematical Sciences programme in September 2020.
