Sophie is researching students perceptions of metacognitive strategies in the secondary school classroom.
Thesis title: Student perceptions of metacognitive study strategies in the secondary school classroom.

Sophie holds a degree in English Literature, a postgraduate certificate of education in Secondary English, and a masters in Education.
Sophie has been a student with the University of Southampton since 2015, and started her education career as a secondary school teacher of English in a Hampshire school in 2019, where she continues to teach as a full time teacher whilst pursuing her part time doctoral studies.
