About
Ivo Peters is Associate Professor in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics. His research interests are in experimental fluid dynamics, with a focus on free surface flows, bubble dynamics, and complex fluids.
Besides his teaching and research activities, he currently is the Doctoral Programme Director for the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

Ivo is currently teaching SESA2023 Propulsion for second year Aero/Astro students, and running tutorial sessions for first year FEEG1003 Thermofluids. Previously he has taught SESM2017 Thermodynamics for second year Mechanical Engineering students and the Intensive Design Activity for FEEG1001 Design and Computing.
Biography
Ivo got his PhD from the University of Twente in the Netherlands in the Physics of Fluids group under the supervision of Devaraj van der Meer and Detlef Lohse from 2008-2012. He went on for a postdoctoral position at the University of Chicago with Heinrich Jaeger from 2012-2015. He obtained his Lecturer position at the University of Southampton in 2015, and has been Associate Professor since 2022.
