About
Ondrej Hovorka is an Associate Professor in the Computational Modelling and Design group in the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences. His research interests are in developing nanoscale autonomous systems for applications in medicine, in data science and machine learning, and in computational magnetism. His teaching focus is on programming (Python, C/C++), data science, software engineering, and numerical methods.

Biography
Ondrej Hovorka received his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Drexel University, Philadelphia, USA, in 2007. His postdoctoral research stays included: CIC nanoGUNE Consolider, San Sebastián, Spain (2008-2011), and Physics Department, University of York, York, UK (2012-2013). He has been a permanent staff member at the University of Southampton since September 2013.
