Dr Sam Perry is a Teaching Fellow in Chemistry specialising in the design, developing and delivery of new materials in practical Physical Chemistry education.
Sam began his Chemistry career at University of Southampton, completing his MChem (Hons) in 2012 and PhD in 2016, where he developed new methods in pulsed electrochemistry under the supervision of Dr Guy Denuault.
Sam then moved to McGill University, Montréal, to work on a number of electrochemistry research projects in the areas of corrosion and biosensing with Dr Janine Mauzeroll. Here, he took an active role in the graduate education program, teaching various areas of practical and theoretical physical chemistry, leading to his award of Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Sam then returned to Southampton as a Research Fellow, working on a number of exciting research projects in the area of green electrochemical synthesis and energy development while teaching as part of the Physical Chemistry and Chemical Engineering modules.
Sam finally made the leap into a the education path as a Teaching Fellow in Physical Chemistry, where he is looking into new ways to enhance student learning and wellbeing in the Teaching Lab environments.
