Katy Sindall is a Lecturer in Criminology in the department of Sociology, Social Policy and Criminology at the University of Southampton. Her research interests are in understanding public perceptions of the police, crime and the criminal justice system, with a particular focus on public confidence in the police, police legitimacy, fear of crime and public engagement with policing. An emerging area of interest concerns crime victimisation and particularly the experiences of children as victims of crime. She has an interest in quantitative methods, applying advanced quantitative techniques to explore these criminological areas.
