Current research
My research is primarily concerned with using novel isotopic techniques to better understand the impact of anthropogenic climate and environment change on the Earth System. Much of my research efforts are currently focused on using boron isotopes in the calcareous shells of foraminifera and in the skeletons of tropical and deep sea corals to reconstruct the state of the oceanic carbonate system on a variety of timescales in the past. I am also interested in the impacts of climate change on calcification in corals and foraminifera, the mechanisms of biomineralisation and in using isotopes and geochemistry to trace the sources of anthropogenic air pollution
