Course Completion Module for BSc

Module overview

This is a core module for attendance and the completion of required skills, NMC and EU and programme requirements. This module does not contribute to classification and is a Pass/Fail module however, you are required to maintain the practice competencies achieved at the end of the programmed year.

The specific requirements to pass this module are:

Record of having undertaken the required clinical practice and theory hours specific to the Programme of Study for BSc Nursing.
A satisfactory and completed Declaration of Good Health and Character.

Experience on clinical placement

During your practice experience you will learn by working alongside staff from the multidisciplinary team. You will be supervised by registered nurses and other healthcare professionals before you are assessed by your named Practice Assessor (registered nurse in your field of practice) after completing a sufficient number of hours to be assessed ( normally 4 weeks or 150 hours). You will be expected to fully participate in direct care at a level appropriate to your stage of the programme and level of experience, this will be assessed in the Assessment of Practice document for each Practice module ( ePAD). At the end of the Programme , your cumulative practice experience will meet the NMC requirements for Pre-registration Nurses education, 2300 hours in practice, to include specified hours for practice related learning. The total number of hours required for your specified Programme is indicated on your ePAD.

Throughout your Programme, your experiences and assessments in practice will enable you to develop your understanding of professional practice in Healthcare. This will inform your ability to make the self declaration of health and good character required for entry to the NMC Register.
