Module overview
The Capstone Project provides you with the opportunity to conduct a significant piece of independent research on a topic of your choice or a topic provided by a company
You will investigate a practical problem or issue relevant to your degree programme by collecting primary and/or secondary data with a focus on AI application to business
You will choose from three different project formats

Consultancy project about developing an AI business application
Business plan on an AI business venture

Having successfully completed this module, you will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of:
- research paradigms, research approaches, research strategies and methods to use or create new AI business applications
- the selected field of study in management and AI
- current tools to develop AI business applications
Subject Specific Intellectual and Research Skills
Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:
- communicate written ideas and arguments and develop AI business applications
- use library and other resources effectively, and apply bibliographical skills.
- collect and critically evaluate qualitative and quantitative information;
Transferable and Generic Skills
Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:
- critically evaluate the chosen techniques and methodologies, highlighting reliability, validity and limitations;
- critically assess the identified business challenges in AI (such as developing new markets, customer relationships, products, services and processes)
- demonstrate commercial acumen and apply knowledge of the key drivers of business success and failure;
Syllabus
All students are required to attend 12 lectures, which will be held from February to April. These sessions will cover the following topics:
Overview of the Capstone project Process
Foundations of Management Research
Developing AI applications
Research Ethics and Academic Integrity
Independent Guided Study
Beyond the scheduled lectures, students are expected to engage in significant independent guided study. This will involve:
Reading and analyzing relevant literature on AI
Developing and refining your project focus, which could be a new AI-driven business venture or a consulting project
Learn to conduct basic applications on AI
Preparing your final project report or presentation
