This module has been developed to connect cutting-edge research in the field of strategy and innovation to teaching in the classroom. Particularly, this module leverages state-of-the-art research from tutors in the Strategy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship department, with the latest findings from their colleagues, operating in a global research environment. This enables learning about the latest developments in the strategy and innovation management field.

Syllabus
The exact topics covered in this module will depend on the configuration of the team of tutors and their respective research areas within strategy and innovation management. The module may include, but is not limited to, the following topics:
• Latest research in strategy: organisational capabilities, absorptive capacity, strategic networks, strategy development, strategy implementation
• Latest research in innovation management: e.g. knowledge networks, technology transfer, innovation in the digital economy, retail innovation, financial innovation, eco-innovation
Learning and Teaching
Teaching and learning methods
Teaching methods include:
Lectures, interactive case studies, problem-solving activities, directed reading, and private/guided study.
Learning activities include:
• Introductory lectures
• An assignment (individual written coursework to deepen learning in a specific topic of the module chosen by you)
• Case study/problem solving activities
• In class debate and discussion
• Private study
• Use of video and online materials
Class activities, such as problem solving activities, discussions and use of case studies will provide opportunities for you to gain feedback from you tutor and/or peers about their level of understanding and knowledge prior to any formal summative assessment. Feedback on the coursework will normally be provided through a written report for each individual/group within four weeks of the submission date.
