Students will learn about the ways in which organisations improve their business practices through the use of information systems and technology. Indicative content:

• Fundamental concepts of Information Systems;
• New trends in Information Systems;
• Design aspects of Information Systems;
• The strategic role of Information Systems in the organisation and change management;
• Critical success factors of Information Systems;
• Key theoretical frameworks to understand and appreciate the significance of Information Systems in organisations and society;
• Social and ethical aspects of Information Systems;
• Case studies of information systems.

The module is taught through a combination of lectures, classes, interactive case discussion, seminars, additional reading, and individual coursework.
