Critical Perspectives on Organisation and Management

Module overview

This module explores and critically analyses diverse and sometimes opposing perspectives on organising and managing a range of organisations, including but not limited to MNCs, SMEs and local organisations. The module exposes learners to critical analyses of key topics including leadership, culture, organisational change, power, identities, technology and the global context of organisation. The application of these concepts to organisational and management practices will be examined through various case studies.

Teaching methods include: The module is taught via a series of lectures and classes. Learning activities include: It will also involve e-learning discussion groups, open debate, case studies, group work, games and videos. You will be expected to actively participate in the learning process, using virtual learning environment or other facilitative media.

Assessment strategy

Formative feedback. Seminars will be used to provide guidance and feedback on the assessment. The formative feedback will not contain any marked components. The summative assessment will include an individual 3000 word essay weighted at 100% of the contribution to the final mark.
