Learning Outcomes

Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:

• Demonstrate a depth of knowledge in the chosen field of study, and the ability to analyse critically, make judgements and draw conclusions
• Identify a research question/aim and a set of research objectives to be examined based on existing gaps in knowledge in your profession
• Identify an appropriate strategy for managing and analysing the data to be collected
• Select and critically appraise a range of sources of evidence in order to justify the need for an inquiry in an area of interest to your professional practice
• Relate the advantages and disadvantages of your chosen design, sampling and recruitment strategy, and data collection methods to your question and discuss the impact of your choices
• Demonstrate appropriate ethical awareness in the planning of the research study by explaining and defending choices made
