Module overview
This module offers you the opportunity for further investigation, risk-taking and critical self-assessment as you develop and define your unique textile design identity. Working towards a pre-collection will allow you to examine new ideas and test innovative solutions, culminating in a substantial body of preliminary research and initial design development that will inform the research proposal relating to your Final Major Project.

- Demonstrate advanced textile design investigations, risk-taking and the testing of innovative solutions, developing a skilled design identity for the contemporary textile design market
- Evidence focussed visual and material research and the application of new ideas as they relate to your professional studio practice

- use inclusive, ethical and sustainable practices to design and evaluate an assessment output evidencing project management techniques and research methods

- creative engagement with key ideas and debates in textiles and their professional contexts and challenges.
Syllabus
Through this core module, you will be supported as you further enhance your textile design skills, including cross-techniques and embellishment, whilst working towards a cohesive and innovative Pre-Collection. You will apply the knowledge you gained in Semester 1 to evolve your investigations through advanced creative experimentation.
You will be expected to take additional responsibility for your own learning through this negotiated project, aligned to your personal interests, motivations and career ambitions.
