This module enables you to develop a self-directed and independent ambitious body of resolved outcomes for an intended context depending on your pathway of study. You will develop a contemporary collection of luxury, sustainable textiles designed and made from your contextual knowledge, design development and technical skills gained during this programme and which are relevant to a theme of your choosing, your discipline pathway and your career goals. You will demonstrate professional, ethical project management and design your own exhibition of your work to promote your individual style, vision and aspirations. This module content will evolve and develop through the Enhance & Refine module. You will be following your unique self-directed project, challenging the conceptual and practical boundaries of your discipline to create an informed and innovative final collection of sustainable, luxury textiles. You will produce digital visualisations and communications to promote your unique collection’s end uses and target market, using ethical storytelling and responsible messaging. You will demonstrate your professional artisan skills and knowledge, ambition and thinking about your future career, further study or enterprise idea’s. You will receive regular formative assessment with feedforward from a range of industry experts, artisans, creatives, academics and professionals to provide you with valuable advice and direction on your specialist project and help you to transition onto your future path.

Coursework portfolio

• Assessment Type: Formative
• Feedback: You will experience verbal and written (and recorded on request) formative feedforward at regular project development stages during the module. Feedforward and feedback will be provided through individual tutorials, critical reviews, peer review and expert panel review. All formative work will be aligned with the Enhance and Refine module and will contribute to the summative assessment at the end of the semester. Feedforward will be provided on your sketchbooks, moodboards, journals and video diary, samples, technical folders, project management plan and promotional planning, digital visualisations and lookbooks.
