This module will show you how to enhance and refine your final project conceptual idea’s into a complete professional, original contemporary collection of sustainable, luxury textiles in the global context. You will use the idea’s, concepts and skills learnt in previous modules around global trend analysis, sustainable artisanal practice, design theory and contexts, colour theory, digital interpretations, innovative materials, techniques, and processes. There are four key components to the syllabus on this module; 1.Critical reflection leading to improvements on your work produced over the course of the programme. 2.Specialising and reworking materials, techniques and processes to promote your sustainable, luxury, ethical artisan advanced skills, knowledge and creative solutions. 3.Planning and preparing for transition into your future professional employment or further study. 4.Advance your critical thinking, research methods, contextual understanding, creative writing and academic writing skills. You will analyse and identify key stakeholders and consumers in your target market and produce supporting evidence to demonstrate project planning, costing calculation, product specifications, digital marketing communications and promotion. This module curriculum will include enhancement and refinement of your research methods, textile design and making skills demonstrated through your sketchbooks and journals, moodboards, fabrications, photography, technical folders, trend reports, digital visualisations and profiles, career plan, manifesto and vision statement, storytelling, market research, promotional marketing communications, final high quality samples and/or products and digital/verbal presentation confidence and techniques. The module includes relevant and inspiring field trips and guest speakers to inform and influence your final project written and visual portfolio of work that supports your innovative, specialist collection of textiles.
