Research project

Systematically closing redundant recycling centers for UK’s Net Zero Strategy

Project overview

(UoS) £4,900 Research Investment and Support for Building Sustainable and Green Futures 2023

We propose a systematic mathematical scheme to provide data-backed choices on which environmentally problematic and/or redundant recycling centers to close. Arbitrary closures of recycling centers risk populations forced to travel too far for recycling leading to an increased tendency of dumping waste in the nature.
