Research project

HEIF 2021/22 Strengthening the understanding of the dimensions of coastal resilience

Project overview

To enable coastal communities to develop a deeper understanding of coastal resilience and the likely implications for them, in a changing world. This will be achieved by leveraging the outputs from the recently completed CoastalRes project (NE/S016651/1, 2021) to translate the research to operational tools. Critically, it will add social (economic and socio-environmental) variables to the coastal resilience model. This will enhance an existing online emulator that allows individuals, business, public sector agencies and communities to explore the research outputs, the concepts and indicative consequences.
