He has a broad range of research interests, including CFD simulations of ship motions and resistance, the added resistance of ships due to waves, and the investigation of ship behaviour and performance in channels/canals. He worked on a number of internationally collaborated Newton Fund and Global Challenges projects. He worked on the EU-funded VENTuRE, MarLEM and GATERS projects as an investigator.
His PhD graduates work throughout the maritime sector, including ship design companies, academia, technology-led defence companies, offshore, renewable energy, and research organisations worldwide.
