Current research
Sam is currently studying a PhD in English. Their thesis sets out to investigates how working with AI influences human creativity, moving away from the question “can AI be creative?” and instead towards one of “can AI augment or change human creativity?”
Sam is also a Digital Humanities technician. They are a current co-investigator of the research project ‘Attitudes, aptitudes and applications of AI-enhanced assessment in Humanities curricula at Southampton’.
Additionally they work as a research assistant on various projects around Southampton, including the Digital Humanities and Royal Botantic Gardens, Kew project “Building shared understanding of plants records as data using Kew Gardens’ historic records”.
