Biography
Before becoming a lecturer in Southampton in October 2024, Toby was a Chapman Research Fellow in Applied Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics at Imperial College London (2022-24). Previously, he spent several years (2018-22) as a postdoc in the Battery Modelling Group at the Mathematical Institute in Oxford, working under Profs. Colin Please and Jon Chapman. He attained his PhD in 2017 in fluid dynamics under the supervision of Prof. Demetrios Papageorgiou in Mathematics at Imperial College London.
