Biography

She obtained her doctoral degree from Tuscia University in Viterbo, Italy and conducted research on ecohydrological process modelling at DiBT- Forestry Lab, University of Molise, Italy, and ICARDA, Egypt as Research Fellow. Her academic background includes a master's degree in Remote Sensing & GIS from Institute of Geographical information System (IGIS) NUST, Pakistan, and a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from the International Islamic University, Pakistan. She specialized in processing satellite data to gain insights into the physical interactions between land and the atmosphere.

Over the course of her professional career, she has provided valuable technical input to initiatives such as the ICARDA Dryland System Program in Jordan, the ICARDA-FAO rainwater harvesting program in the NENA region, and the REDD+ Readiness program in Pakistan. During her research journey, she actively engaged in various scientific networks, including DiBT Forestali, All-Foresters Group-Pakistan, EU-SENSECO, EU-FIRElinks, the CCAFS-Two Degree Initiative, and the Water, Land and Ecosystems Program in ICARDA.

Her core research areas encompass remote sensing of vegetation, process-based modelling, agrometeorology, sustainability, and the intricate relationship between agriculture and water resources. Notably, she has made significant contributions to regional water budget analysis, as well as evapotranspiration estimation and modelling in the Mediterranean region. Her unwavering dedication lies in addressing critical issues related to water resource management and the promotion of sustainable agricultural practices worldwide.

Currently, she serves as the project manager for the ESA-funded EO4CerealStress project, which spans across Europe and Canada and is based at the University of Southampton.
