Fabien's current research investigates the existence and experiences of moral conflict in relation to climate change and environmental sustainability. It focuses on employees working in the oil & gas industry, and aims to study ways in which these employees make sense of their industry's impact on the environment (and which type of impact they focus on), in the context of the climate emergency, and take action accordingly. This research is based on qualitative methods, to build an understanding and knowledge of lived experiences.
The intended contribution of the research is to help organisations acknowledge and understand their employees' potential conflict in relation to their impact on climate change, and to identify ways in which these employees' environmental consciousness can be harnessed to drive positive change from the inside.
