George Bolton is a 2nd year Politics PhD student based at the Department of Politics and International Relations. George’s thesis title is ‘Economic inequality and political trust: a multi method case study of Great Britain’. The thesis will primarily use data from the British Election Study to explain how individuals’ attitudes towards and experience of economic inequality influence their level of trust in political institutions and representatives. George is also a Research Assistant with Participedia, a global network of academics and practitioners focusing on improving democratic practice, and Involve, a UK-based charity with the aim of putting members of the public at the heart of political decision-making.
