Current research
Anne's current research is focussing on understanding the various ways people volunteered during Covid-19 with a particular emphasis on why people chose to volunteers in government-initiated programmes, such as NHS Volunteer Responders, as opposed to choosing more local options. Understanding what motivated people to respond, why they continued to do so during the pandemic and whether they continued to do so afterwards is of interest both in the public policy context, but also for charities as they seek to recruit volunteers. The work implictly also will consider what roles are most appropriate for volunteering in times of crisis.
