Biography
Dr Alex Corcoran joined the University of Southampton on the 1st January 2023 as a teaching fellow within the Primary Medical Care team. He currently works as the module lead for year 3 Primary Medical Care and long-term conditions.
Alex works as a GP and is a graduate of our Medical school here at the University of Southampton. Since graduating, Alex has become increasingly involved in medical education. He completed a PGCert in Delivery of Primary Healthcare as a GP registrar. He then started teaching Medicine in Practice to first year medics, a course which Alex says inspired him to be a GP himself many years ago! He has also worked with Health Education England, where he devised and ran a series of interactive primary care career sessions for schools. Alex is passionate about the future of General Practice and feels strongly that inspiring young people to work in primary care is paramount to securing a healthy future workforce for us all.
